Pre-construction Checklist

Resolve the fireplace opening, services and access before the wall is closed.

Use this checklist during concept design, technical coordination and pre-installation review. The supplied manual and approved drawing remain the controlling documents for the exact appliance.

Installing a mist fireplace? Use the detailed water vapor fireplace installation guide for the power, water, drainage, airflow, commissioning, and handover sequence.

Design Freeze

Product and opening.

  • Record exact product family, model, finish and viewing direction.
  • Obtain the current model drawing before finalizing the opening.
  • Coordinate appliance body, finished opening, support and decorative surround as separate dimensions.
  • Confirm whether the installation is single-sided, see-through, corner, bay or vertical.
  • Provide a route for removal, inspection, filling and routine service.

Site Services

Power, controls, water and drainage.

  • Confirm destination voltage, frequency, outlet location and isolation method.
  • Confirm the supplied control package and any network or smart-home interface.
  • For water vapor units, identify manual fill or automatic water connection.
  • For automatic water systems, coordinate water quality, valve, drain route and leak-management approach.
  • Keep cables, hoses, connectors and service components accessible after finishes are complete.

Construction

Support, materials and environment.

  • Design stable level support for the appliance and firebox.
  • Confirm surrounding material requirements and clearances from the current manual.
  • Coordinate room ventilation and appliance airflow openings where required.
  • Review nearby curtains, furniture, circulation routes, televisions and heat-sensitive finishes.
  • For outdoor products, review weather exposure, wind, drainage, electrical protection and seasonal storage.

Handover

Evidence before operation.

  • Check model and order configuration against the received unit.
  • Retain manual, drawing, product identification and applicable certificates.
  • Complete agreed functional checks before closing access panels.
  • Train the responsible operator in filling, starting, stopping, cleaning and abnormal-condition response.
  • Record service access and contact information for future maintenance.

Local review: the project architect, contractor and installer must apply destination-specific building, fire, electrical and ventilation requirements. A generic website checklist cannot approve a site.
